Rent a caravan by Vejle Fjord

When you go camping as a family, perhaps for the first time, an experience filled with intimacy, nature and new routines awaits you. Living close together – six people in a caravan – provides both lots of coziness and opportunities for shared activities.

With the caravan located right next to the large playground, children are almost guaranteed hours of play and new friendships. At the same time, the creative workshop on site allows for quiet breaks to paint, cut and create when you need to recharge your batteries. When the kids are busy, you adults get some peace and quiet too – either for yourselves or to join in on the sidelines.

The surrounding nature with beach and forest opens up for a lot of spontaneous adventures: sandcastles, crabbing, walks, hide-and-seek in the trees and maybe a sno-cake over a campfire. You don’t need to plan too much – the best memories are often made when the program is loose and flexible.

Bring practical clothes and equipment – rainwear, rubber boots, extra blankets, some toys, drawing materials and headlamps. It makes everyday life easier and gives you the freedom to play outside and have fun inside, whatever the weather.

The most important thing is not whether everything goes smoothly – it rarely does in camping. But it’s the imperfection that makes for the best stories. Expect laughter, a bit of mess, a bit of logistics, and a lot of little moments where you just feel the family is together and present.

So go with an open mind and maybe create your own little traditions – pancakes in the morning, evening trips to the beach, or breakfast together without screens. At the end of the trip, the kids will most likely ask: “When are we going again?”
